Full-time Detective Position

The Gardiner Police Department is currently accepting applications for an open Detective position that will be effective immediately upon hire and completion of department FTO period. Starting pay for this position will range from $34.77-$38.69 depending on the candidate's years of law enforcement experience before education or military stipend.

Comprehensive Benefits Package (includes but not limited to):

• Lateral hire up to 10 years (contractal top step) experience with vacation accrual adjustments
• 80 hours of earned time upon hire

• Retirement after 25 years of service at 2/3 pay regardless of age

Requirements:

• Must be a certified law enforcement officer with a minimum of five (5) years of full-time law enforcement experienc
• Possess a valid Maine Driver's license or be able to obtain one within 30 days after employment start date
• Must be in good physical condition and health
• Must be able to pass a background investigation, medical evaluation, and possibly a polygraph and psychological examination if warranted
