The Town of Gray is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Economic Development to lead initiatives aimed at fostering and promoting economic growth within our community. Under the guidance of the Town Manager, the Director will oversee operations and activities to meet the department’s goal of generating new job opportunities and increasing business activity.

Gray is home to a historic village that has been undergoing revitalization for the past few years and several other areas designated for economic development under the Comprehensive Plan. Conveniently located at Exit 63 off the Maine Turnpike, midway between Portland and Lewiston-Auburn, Gray is a gateway to the Lakes Region.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a four-year degree in economic or community development or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of direct experience. A master’s degree and seven years of experience are preferred. The candidate should possess thorough knowledge of business development, economic and community development programs, and grant processes. The Director must also hold a valid Maine state driver’s license and be able to travel routinely.
