Bath Water District is Hiring a Treatment Plant Operator!

Bath Water District is seeking a Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks essential to the operation and maintenance of Bath Water District’s 4MGD water treatment facility, ensuring reliable delivery of clean, safe drinking water to approximately 15,000 residents and businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong communication and problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Applicants must live within 20 minutes of our facility or be willing to relocate.

Qualifications:

• Minimum State of Maine Class II Treatment Operator license with the ability to obtain Class IV within two (2) years (Class IV preferred).
• Two years of experience in the water industry or related education.
• Valid State of Maine Class C driver’s license.
• A two- or four-year degree in a science or technical field is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and meet confined space entry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, repair, and maintain chemical feed systems, filtration equipment, and plant controls.
• Monitor and analyze system performance using computerized controls and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate records of plant activities, water quality, and compliance reports.
• Respond to emergencies during on-call rotations (within 20 minutes).
