The Town of Cumberland is accepting applications for a full-time Finance Director. The Director provides financial reporting and support to the Town Manager, Town Council, Department Heads, and senior managers. They are responsible for the management and efficient operation of the Finance Department, including administration and oversight of accounting, payroll, budgeting, cash management, debt management, and risk management.
The position requires the performance of complex accounting and administrative work in the analysis and operation of the Town’s finances. Work involves maintaining computerized and paper records of all municipal accounts and the oversight of all accounting functions. Work also involves the preparation of bonds and tax anticipation notes and the investment of public funds. The position works closely with the Town Manager in the preparation of the annual budget and the HR Specialist in administration of the employee benefits program. The Director is also responsible for managing and maintaining the Town’s financial software, in coordination with the IT department.
