Arundel Fire-Rescue is accepting applications for 1 (One) Full-Time Firefighter/EMT (Advanced/Paramedic preferred)
Arundel, Maine is a booming community of 4,800 residents with a call volume just below 1000. Arundel is situated at nearly 24 square miles in York County and borders the communities of Biddeford, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Lyman.
The position of Firefighter/EMT provides emergency medical and firefighting services, participates in community risk reduction events, provides life-safety inspections, attend drills and training, inspect and maintain equipment, and to perform other related duties.
Minimum Requirements
- Candidtaes must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Maine driver's license with no violations within 2 years
- Must pass a candidate physical ability test
- Certified in EVOC and/or AVOC
- Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700
- Maine State or National Registry EMT Basic
- Pro Board or IFSAC Certified Firefighter I/II (meeting NFPA 1001)
Preferred Requirements
- Maine State or National Registry Advanced EMT or EMT-Paramedic
- Basic Pumps

- Pay is hourly and the rate is based on qualifications
- Probationary rate of pay inreases after completing one year of employment
- Starting Pay Rate: FF/EMT-B $26.48/ FF/EMT-A $27.85/ FF-EMT-P $29.76
- 24hr rotating schedule with 24-on/ 48-off/ 24-on/ 96-off

Individuals seeking employmemt must be customer service oriented, professional, flexible, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Below is a list of the ducuments that must be included with your application packet:
- A current Maine EMS License
- Maine Firefighter I/II or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course and/or Ambulance Vehicle Operator's Course
- A high school diploma or equivalent is also a requirement
All full-time candidates must complete a criminal background check, pass a physical agility test (physician's clearance reqired), and participate in an interview process. Full-time candidates must obtain an Advanced EMT license within two years of hire, if an EMT at hire.
