The Town of Bucksport, Maine is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/EMT, Paramedic preferred. We provide coverage to nearly 8,000 citizens and have an annual call volume of over 1,800 calls. Applicants must be licensed at minimum the EMTB level. Candidates with State of Maine or Pro-Board Firefighter I, and/or Firefighter II desired. Applicants must have a high school diploma, or equivalent. Applicants will be required to pass a full background check, medical exam, and training assessment. Position remains open until filled.

The rate of pay is $28.38 - $35.15 ($61,981.92 - $76,767.60). July 1st, 2025, a cost of living adjustment added as well. A lateral entry is available at the Public Safety Director’s discretion based on training, certifications, and experience. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is also available at the Public Safety Director’s discretion.
Full-time firefighter/EMTs work a rotating 42-hour work week (1-1-1-5) 24-ON / 24-OFF / 24-ON / 120-OFF
