Due to an internal promotion, the City of Saco has a current opening for a Lead Mechanic to join the Public Works Department. This is a highly technical position requiring skills and knowledge applicable to vehicle maintenance and repair of a variety of automobiles, trucks, and light and heavy-duty construction equipment. The capability to maintain computerized parts, supply and work order management systems is required. Having strong communication skills and the skill to manage the work of others is essential. The hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.16-36.58 depending on exrience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from a two (2) year college specializing in automotive trade and/or a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy construction, industrial and commercial vehicles and equipment including diesel engines, air brakes hydraulic and power shift systems required. Employee must possess a valid CDL State of Maine motor vehicle license, State of Maine Class A, B, & D motor vehicle inspection license required.
