All applicants must be a high school graduate or hold a GED and be at least 21 years old at the time of hire. POSSESSION OF A MAINE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACADEMY FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER CERTIFICATION OR FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER CERTIFICATION FROM ANOTHER STATE THAT WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE MCJA IS REQUIRED. ANY OUT OF STATE CERTIFICATION WILL ALSO NEED THE MCJA ALERT CERTIFICATE.
