The Town of Kennebunk has an immediate need for a Part-Time General Assistance (GA) Administrator within the Finance Department. The GA Administrator provides services in compliance with the State of Maine statutes that include determining eligibility for general assistance programs, processing vouchers and preparing reports to be submitted to the State of Maine. Additionally, this position will establish and maintain effective working relationships with local agencies and will refer residents who are in need of additional services to those agencies.  

The GA Administrator is a variable part-time position working an average of 10-20 hours per week, depending on volume. This position allows for a flexible schedule during business hours to be determined with the supervisor. The position is not eligible for employee benefits.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from a college or university with a minimum of an Associate’s degree desirable;
• A minimum of three (3) years of related municipal experience or clerical/office work of a progressively responsible nature dealing with the public required;
• Strong proficiency in various software applications including Microsoft Office, social media platforms, etc. required; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Pay

This is a variable hourly, non-exempt, part-time position with a starting pay range of $24.05-$28.62/hour, Grade F of the Town’s non-union pay ranges. Starting pay will be determined based on demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and work experience.
