The Town of Brunswick is seeking a candidate for the position of Construction Engineer. Working within established policies and procedures; the selected candidate will provide technical and professional assistance to the Public Works Department in the performance of civil engineering, surveying and certain other technical functions. The primary areas of responsibility relate to: permitting (street opening, utility location and obstruction), project planning, PW project layout, and construction inspection. 

The selected candidate will be self-motivated and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to employees, officials, consultants, the public and others will be of utmost importance, while maintaining good public relations.

Reporting to the Public Works Director; this position will require considerable knowledge of public works functions. Applicants should hold the equivalent to the completion of a four-year college degree. Applicants have preferably passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam or is currently scheduled to take it. Alternatively, applicants may also have the equivalent combination of education and experience for the successful performance of all essential functions. A degree in civil engineering, construction management technologies, or a related field is preferred. An extensive knowledge of computers, ability to use desktop programs and proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS initiatives are required.

The full salary range for this position will be $82,332 to $106,937 annually. The starting pay will be pursuant to qualifications and budgetary allowance.
