City of Augusta-Recycling & Rubbish Truck Loader

Responsibilities

• Loads residential and some business solid waste/recycling materials from street into truck on regular basis.
• Starts hoisting device attached to rear of truck that raises dumpsters and dumps contents into rubbish truck.
• Works alone or as a member of crew on caring for City streets using hand and power tools and equipment.
• Works with snow removal operations including shoveling, acting as a wing-person on a snowplow unit, and using associated machinery such as power brooms or snow blowers.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Monday thru Friday, however candidates must have the ability to work non-standard hours for snow removal operations, city functions or in an emergency.

• Ability to quickly make coordinated movements to effectively pick up the curbside rubbish and recyclables.
• Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and to do so repeatedly and/or continuously over time.
• Must live within a 30-mile radius of Augusta.

• Full-Time, non-exempt - union position.
• Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, retirement and generous paid time off.
• Pay range B6: $19.10 to 23.54 per hour.
