The Town of Alfred is accepting applications for a full-time Code Enforcement Officer (CEO) for up to 40 hours per week. Considerable experience in, or knowledge about, the construction industry; graduation from an accredited high school, supplemented by vacational training in building construction, structural design, or a related field; or any combination of experience and traning. CEO certification and plumbing inspection license is required or must be attained within a year of employment. Must possess a valid vehicle operator's license and have own transportation. Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Enforcing the provisions of the Alfred Land Use, Shoreland Zoning Ordinances and the Code of Alfred, issuing various land use permits, conducting on-site inspections to ensure compliance, attend Planning Board, Board of Selectmen and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings. Updating the Board of Selectmen on any issues regarding violations or major projects within Town limits, and working closely with the appropriate State agencies.
A full time hourly position that offers competitive wages and medical, dential, vision and retirement. Hours are Monday- Thursday and some evening meetings.
