Freeport Community Library is currently accepting applications for part-time Circulation Clerks.

The successful candidate must have experience working with the public; exceptional customer service skills; the ability to work in an environment that can be energetic and lively; can handle detailed work while having frequent interruptions and maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor; and be technologically proficient. Prior library experience is a plus.

Responsibilities will include serving patrons in person and by phone; performing desk duties at the main circulation desk as well as the youth services desk; answering reference questions; checking materials in and out; processing holds and incoming/outgoing interlibrary loans; performing opening and closing procedures; and shelving materials accurately. We have two vacancies, each position working 19 hours/week. The current schedule will include weekday, evening, and seasonal Saturday hours. The rate of pay for this position is $17.49/hour.
