Animal Control Officer - Part Time
The Phippsburg Police Department is looking to fill a Part-time Animal Control Officer position for a small, community-service oriented department.
The position requires approximately 750 hours annually, including training time. Most of those hours are worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day, including evening and weekend callouts when necessary. The Animal Control Officer is a year-round part-time position.
Candidates must be 21 years old, possess a valid Maine driver’s license, possess a High School Diploma or GED, have no criminal history, and pass a background check. Seeking applicants with strong communication skills. The rate of pay starts at $24 per hour with starting pay negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Students must be 21 years old, or 20 years old with at least 60 credits from an accredited college, or age 19, currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary education program.
The Town of Phippsburg will provide all uniforms, equipment and will pay for training when hired. The starting rate of pay is commensurate with experience.
