The Town of South Berwick is seeking a professional administrative and technical position in the field of Municipal Planning and Economic Development. Employee of this class is responsible for all municipal planning functions and economic development within the Town. Work involves land use planning, providing technical and professional assistance to the Planning Board, Town staff liaison for the Comprehensive Plan/Committee, Downtown Revitalization Plan/Committee, the Economic Development Plan/Committee, and the Planning Board. This position will be responsible for researching, developing, coordinating and administering land use and planning related projects; creating and supervising the implementation of an economic development program to encourage community improvement activities; maintaining accurate records; developing and maintaining a long-term strategic plan, general administration of the department and programs, and serving as lead staff for Tax Increment Financing (TIF), and managing the TIF Development Programs and budgets. The candidate will have practical working experience with fostering community economic development opportunities as identified and prioritized by the Town Council and Town Manager. This position works closely and collaboratively with other staff including the Code Enforcement Officer and the Assessing Agent. Knowledge of grantsmanship including grand development, writing, and budget development.

Pay to commensurate with experience and education.
