Deputy Fire Chief, Salaried FLSA Exempt – Town of Topsham
The candidate must have the strength of character and depth of knowledge to inspire and lead talented,
dedicated staff and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing
strong, positive working relationships throughout the community.
Minimum requirements:
 Completion of a 2-year associate degree in a Fire/EMS-related field
 10 years of Fire/EMS experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role, or equivalent
combination of education and experience
 Firefighter I, II
 Maine EMS advanced license or higher
 Valid driver’s license
Preferred requirements:
 Completion of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a related field
 Maine EMS Paramedic License
 Fire Officer I, II, III, or IV
 Fire Inspector I
 Fire Instructor I, II
 Residency within the Mid-Coast Area
