Biddeford Wastewater Summer Intern/Temp Job Description

Description of Job

Biddeford is seeking two summer temporary employees to assist with stormwater and wastewater work from the months of June to August.  The primary task will be to inspect stormwater catch basins and enter data into GIS on a tablet in the field, but other may be assigned based on the City’s needs and the interest of the applicant to learn about wastewater collection and treatment.  These task may in include but are not limited to:

• Assisting operators in daily tasks
• Assisting maintenance staff in daily tasks
• Assisting lab technician in daily tasks
• Assisting collections staff in daily tasks
• General cleaning/painting of equipment
• Yard maintenance
• Attending weekly staff meetings
• GIS data entry

Job Requirements

• Must be able to receive tasks and complete under minimal supervision
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Must have received vaccines for Hep A, Hep B, and TDAP or be willing to sign a refusal consent form

Hours and Wage

• 20 to 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
• Schedule can be flexible between the hours of 7:00 and 3:00
• $20/hour
