The City of Bath is seeking a full time Operator with the Wastewater Treatment Plant. If you are motivated by protecting water resources and public health and are interested in a variety of sciences – from chemistry, to biology, to complex mechanical systems - this job might be for you.

This position is part of a dedicated team that is responsible for meeting environmental regulations and protecting clean water through maintenance, testing and operations of the City’s 13 pump stations and its Treatment Plant. Experience is preferred but not required.

The candidate will be expected to be on-call for emergencies and participate in a wide variety of tasks. Experience using laboratory equipment is a plus. Must have a High School diploma or GED, be able to communicate and understand written and oral instructions, follow safety precautions, and carry out assigned projects with relative independence. The candidate is required to have a Grade 1 Biological Wastewater License and a CDL within 1 year of hire. A State of Maine background check is required.

This position is part of the Public Works Union and has a starting wage of $24.15. Generous benefits including paid time off, sick time, and optional health, dental, disability insurances.
