December 2023 Disaster Assistance Funding

On January 30, 2024, President Biden awarded Androscoggin, Franklin, Hancock, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo and Washington Counties a Public Assistance Disaster Declaration (DR-4754) for the December 17-21, 2023 storm. This grant funding will provide financial assistance for emergency work and repair or replacement of eligible public infrastructure disaster-damaged facilities. To facilitate the grant process and requirements for this event, MEMA’s Public Assistance team is hosting a virtual applicant briefing on February 8 at 10:00 a.m.
Municipal officials interesting in participating in the briefing are to use this link to join the February 8 meeting. A pre-recorded briefing, covering the same material, will also be available to view.
If comfortable, applicants may submit a DR-4754 related “Request for Public Assistance” through the FEMA grants portal. Applications will be processed and approved after the February 8 briefing. All applications must be submitted by February 29. Please email [email protected] with questions.
