Dementia First Responder Training

Virtual training on Alzheimer's and Dementia for Fire and EMS first responders is being offered in May by Alzheimer's Association staff. Each training is two hours, and will be held on May 14 and 19. This program has been developed specifically for Fire and EMS, helping personnel optimize the effectiveness of responding during interventions with persons living with dementia. Given the prevalence of dementia in our state, trainings such as these aid in a better understanding, and response in stressful situations.
