MMA Offering Full Background Checks to Members

MMA offers full background check services to our members through the ADP workforce management platform. This is a thorough process, which includes Maine and nationwide Criminal Records Search going back seven years, Multi State Sex Offender Registry, Social Security Number Death Master Search, Motor Vehicle Records Search and Credit Checks for those positions that would require one. MMA charges for the cost of the background check which is typically $54.There are a few States that charge an additional amount to access the requested data. Credit checks cost an additional $10. Additionally, MMA charges a $25 administrative cost for each background.

A typical background check takes about two weeks to process. If you are interested in this service, please print and complete the attached Background Authorization Form and ask the candidate fill out the form completely and neatly, and then scan and email the form to MMA at either Cbranscom@memun.org or Bwadleigh@memun.org or fax to (207) 624-0118.
