On December 5 and 6 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, in collaboration with MEMA, will conduct training sessions on the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) and the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) programs. Zoom sessions are designed to provide eligible applicants and sub-applicants with the information and tools necessary for filing grant applications, which in addition to traditional infrastructure resilience and flood mitigation efforts, include funding for forest pest mitigation programs. There is unprecedented funding available for this purpose, and while federal grants can be challenging for small communities, the hope is that these sessions will aid staff with the process. Please note that neither session will be recorded.
Session 1. The December 5 session will focus on an overview of the programs, including descriptions of eligible applicants and sub-applicants, requirements, and application timelines. Municipal officials interested in participating in this session can access the presentation via this link: https://fema.zoomgov.com/j/1601102678 (Meeting ID: 160 110 2678 - Passcode: 741755).
Session 2. The December 6 session will focus on best practices to implement when completing applying for funding, the benefit-cost analysis process, and an overview the federal agency’s new grant management platform called FEMA Go. Municipal officials interested in participating in this session can access the presentation via this link: https://fema.zoomgov.com/j/1615724321 (Meeting ID: 161 572 4321 - Passcode: 524746)
