Town Administrator - Town of Milton, New Hampshire

The Town of Milton, New Hampshire (population approx. 4600) is seeking a candidate experienced in municipal management to serve as its next Town Administrator.  Milton’s location along routes 125 and 16 make it an easy drive to the White Mountains, Lakes Region and Seacoast.  Although it has retained its small New England community feel, it’s just a short drive to the major employment, medical and commercial hubs of Rochester, Somersworth and Dover.  With an SB-2 town meeting form of government and reporting to a 3 member Board of Selectmen the Town Administrator coordinates the administration of a workforce comprised of 28 FT employees and an operating budget of $4.7 million.  Although experience as a Town Administrator is not required, the successful candidate should have significant experience with municipal operations/local government and have excellent communication and “people skills”.  Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or related field and 5 years progressively responsible experience in municipal government; OR equivalent combination of experience and education which demonstrates an ability to be successful in the position.  Salary range to $85,000.  Starting salary commensurate with qualifications.  Milton is an equal opportunity employer.  For additional information related to the search contact Alan Gould, President, Municipal Resources Inc., at 603-279-0352, x320.
