The Maine Public Employees Retirement System is seeking a Member Services Representative. This work is focused on assisting members at various stages of their membership. The work may include receiving enrollment paperwork and ensuring its completeness and accuracy; processing changes; retrieving account information for members and explaining the information to them, both over the telephone and in person. In addition, the position provides operational support by processing member requests including gathering information and verifying completeness prior to forwarding the results into the workflow process. This position must follow through on a sequence of tasks while dealing with phone interruptions, utilize/maintain an organized file system, accurately enter data and verify the accuracy of own work as well as work of others. Responsibilities may include determining membership, creditable service, costs for the purchase of creditable service, earnable compensation and service retirement benefits by obtaining and interpreting service records and other relevant documentation. Other responsibilities may include the dissemination or receipt of information about ancillary benefits.
A high school diploma is required plus four (4) years of responsible, self-directed work experience in an office environment.
Demonstrated successful customer service experience by phone and/or in person. Familiarity with using Windows or web-based computer applications
