COLLECTIONS CLERK/GENERAL ASSISTANCE CASEWORKER (GA)
The Town of Skowhegan has an opening for the combined full-time position of front office clerk and general assistance case worker. The clerk position involves collecting property and excise taxes and registering motor vehicles and recreational vehicles. This position also involves issuing birth, marriage and death certificates and a focus on providing excellent customer service. The general assistance portion of the position amounting to approximately 10 hours weekly administrates the town-supported welfare program for eligible needy people. The successful applicant will possess a high school diploma, GED acceptable, basic computer skills, experience with processing cash payments and excellent communication skills. In addition, a capacity to learn and understand a complex set of laws regarding the dispensing of assistance under the GA program is an important part of the required skill set.
Excellent benefit package and pay is negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.
