The Town of Sabattus is seeking a qualified, motivated and community oriented candidate for the position of Police Officer.

Located in Southwestern Maine just off I-95, we are conveniently located 25 mins. from Augusta and 45 mins. from Portland. We are a motivated, professional police department dedicated to our community. We are looking for pro-active, community oriented, team players to join us. We encourage our officers to be self-motivated and active in the community.

Sabattus Police Officers work a non-traditional work schedule with rotating days-off (4 on 4 off). The Town of Sabattus offers competitive wages with a comprehensive benefit package including : wage step increases, tuition reimbursement, annual clothing allowance, an employee/family health plan, dental and eyewear plan option, 2/3 retirement at 25 years of service through Maine Public Employment Retirement System and more.

Applicants with experience can be laterally entered into our pay scale and have up to 8 years of service recognized in our compensation package.

Applicants will be required to successfully pass the MCJA ALERT, the MCJA fitness test (further information located at, an oral board interview, background investigation, polygraph, psychological evaluation and physical exam. Preference may be given to applicants who have graduated from the MCJA or hold a degree in criminal justice or law enforcement.
