The Town of Sabattus, Maine {hereinafter, the "Town") will receive sealed Proposals for a 2019 or 2020 Diesel Dump Truck

All Proposals are to be submitted in sealed envelopes marked "Dump Truck" to the Town Office, 190 Middle Road Sabattus, Maine 04280, by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019. Any Proposal received after the scheduled opening time shall not be considered. All sealed bids shall be opened immediately following the closure of bid acceptance. The Proposal must be signed by the Proposer with its full name and address and enclosed in a sealed envelope. Proposal shall contain all information and options necessary for the Town to make the proper choice.

Questions regarding this Request for Proposals should be directed toward Town Manager Anthony Ward. All questions by prospective proposers pertaining to this Request for Proposals must be received at least five (5) days before the date set for the opening of the Proposals.

Each Proposer is required to state in its Proposal: the Proposer's name and place of business and the names of persons or parties interested as principals with it; that the Proposal is made without any connection with any other Proposer making any proposal for the same Services; and that no person acting for or employed by the Town is directly or indirectly interested in the Proposal or any agreement which may be entered into to which the Proposal relates or in any portion of the profits here from.

No Proposals may be withdrawn within a period of thirty {30) days after the opening of bids.


II. Vehicle Specifications

Proposal is for 2019 or 2020 Dump Truck

The following lists of items are preferred in the bids.

  • Heavy-duty spring suspension designed to support plow and R.H. wing in travel position and under full ballast load with no appreciable spring sag or deflection either side.
  • Right side front helper spring (or air assist) shall be provided to support plow apparatus weight, and so designed as to provide good riding characteristics when traveling unladed {Timbren spring not acceptable)
  • I-Beam type construction, set back

The Town has set limited funding or financing amounts and all bids must include any titles, licensing, equipment installation and dealer fees for this truck. Proposers may add options as they see fit to enhance their package providing the figure with funding limitations.



The Town/City reserves the right to waive any informality in proposals, to accept any proposal and to reject any or all proposals, should it be deemed in the best interest of the Town to do so.

Proposals may be held by the Town for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of proposals.
