Deputy Clerk - Town of Newcastle

The Town of Newcastle is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Deputy Town Clerk. This is a part time, year-round position consisting of between 20-30 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting the Registrar of Voters, Code Enforcement Officer, Tax Collector, Town Clerk and various committees.   This position assists with a variety of routine and complex administrative functions relating to the recording and retention of official Town records; assists customers with various registrations and licenses at the counter; assists with election duties, attending some night meetings to take board/committee minutes, and additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Town Administrator. The successful candidate will be customer service oriented, adept at performing a variety of tasks, able to adapt to changing circumstances, and can establish and maintain effective working relationships with town officials, employees and general public. Knowledge of modern office practices and equipment, including computers, ability to organize, file and set priorities a must.  Municipal experience and Trio knowledge preferred. Wages will be based upon experience, but competitive within the market.
