The Town of Wells is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Officer. Preference may be given to candidates who have completed the MCJA Pre-Service Training Program and/or who have a college degree through an accredited college program. Technical ability with IT and/or prior military experience is also highly valued.
Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, good mental and physical condition appropriate to the job requirements, and successfully complete the ALERT test. Successful candidates must pass a physical agility test and an extensive background investigation to include a polygraph, medical and psychological exam.
Starting Salary: $958.31- $1,202.14/week depending on experience and qualifications. The Town of Wells provides educational reimbursement and other incentives and benefits that include health care, wellness program incentives, retirement with the Maine Public Employees Retirement System Special Plan (25 years / no age) or ICMA RC 457 and 401A.
