The Town of Paris is seeking candidates for a full-time ‘Police Administrative Assistant’. This is a Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. non-supervisory union represented position which performs administrative work in support of police operations, functions, and programs. Serves as the administrative assistant to the Chief of Police while performing a full range of other support services for other police personnel. Examples of duties include but are not limited to: organization of case files for distribution, assist with invoices, reports, memos, letters etc., monitor mandatory deadlines for various State and Federal reporting requirements, receive incoming phone calls, interact regularly with victims, witnesses, and others as needed, and have the ability to enter accurate information into a computer aided dispatch program.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of two-years secretarial related experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Maine motor vehicle driver’s license, and requires a Notary Public Commission or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment. Candidates must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times and must be able to successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check.
