Assistant Transfer Station Manager
The Town of Readfield has an immediate opening for the position of Assistant Transfer Station Manager. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week). Pay is $15.19 per hour. Exceptional health, retirement, and other benefits are provided.
This position requires responsible supervisory and organizational work, operating the Transfer Station’s solid waste and recycling programs, supervising and actively supporting other full and part-time employees and volunteers in a team oriented environment, ordering supplies and scheduling vendors pick-ups, scheduling and performing grounds and equipment maintenance, advising users in proper disposal and recycling methods, assisting in enforcing all policies and procedures, accurate recordkeeping and cash handling, establishing and maintaining a safe working environment, and regularly reporting to the Transfer Station Manager. A professional demeanor and the ability to communicate positively with both the public and municipal employees is required. The ability to physically perform the full range of site duties and equipment operation is required. Past Transfer Station training and experience is strongly preferred. Must have or be willing to obtain DEP Transfer Station Operator certification, and be willing to continue all necessary training for effective site operations.
