Belfast Police Department - Patrol Officer
The City of Belfast is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Patrol Officer.
Employee in this position is responsible for providing a full spectrum of first response law enforcement services by patrolling all areas of the City of Belfast.

Interested candidates must: Be at least 21 years of age, or 20 years old with at least 60 credits from an accredited college. Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Hold a valid Maine driver’s license or the ability to obtain one. Have passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Alert test. Have the ability to pass the physical fitness test for entrance to the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. Further education in law enforcement and completion of the Pre-Service Certification program is preferred. Oral interviews, in-depth criminal and personal background investigations, polygraph test, and psychological exam are required of selected applicants.
The following materials are required and must be returned to the Belfast Police Department’s Office: Cover letter addressed to Chief Gerry Lincoln. Detailed resume, City of Belfast application, copy of a valid driver’s license, and copy of any law enforcement certification. Non-academy graduates - MCJA physical fitness result if within 12 months of application and a copy of your Alert score.
