The City of Hallowell (pop. 2,400) is accepting applications to fill the position of Assistant Clerk / Assistant Registrar / Deputy Tax Collector. This employee is an enthusiastic professional, responsible for assisting the Hallowell City Clerk’s department in performing clerical duties for the City and providing customer service to citizens requiring public records, genealogical information, and wishing to pay taxes and / or acquire licenses or permits. This person works under the supervision of the City Clerk. The City of Hallowell is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
This is a salaried position of forty (40) hours per week, dependent on workload. Base wage is $13.89 per hour and increases to $14.17 on July 1, 2020, per the current union contract, with some potential for limited overtime. This employee will work core hours of 8AM-5PM, Monday through Friday. The position includes an attractive benefits package, and is part of the Granite City Employee Association union.
