Northern Oxford Regional Ambulance Service dba Med-Care Ambulance located in Mexico Maine in the heart of the Western Mountain Region has immediate full-time and per-diem openings for all licensed level providers.
Med-Care is non-profit 501 (c) 3 quasi-municipal ambulance service that provides Advanced Life Support 911 response to eleven communities and several unorganized territories in Oxford and Franklin Counties over a 550 square mile geographic region. Med-Care also provides BLS, ALS, and PIFT transfer services throughout this same region. Med-Care performs an average annual call volume of 4,000 emergency responses and transfers at about a 50 / 50 split between 911 and transfers.
Med-Care is licensed at the Advanced Level and permitted to the Paramedic Level and staffs a minimum of 2 ambulances at the Paramedic Level 24/7 and a third ambulance at the paramedic or Advanced level 7 days a week during daytime and high peak hours.
Med-Care employs 12 full-time Paramedic and Advanced Life Support providers and an additional 40+ perdiem providers of all license levels. All classifications of Med-Care employees have the option of joining the Teamsters Local Union No. 340 that is the bargaining agent on their behalf.
Med-Care's wage schedule establishes base full time Paramedic starting wages at $20.25 per hour and affords for adjustments up based on experience and years of service. Per-diem paramedic wages start at $22.00 per hour and allows for adjustments up based on experience and years of service. Advanced EMT base hourly starting wage is $16.00 per hour while Basic EMT base hourly starting wage is $13.50 per hour and both of these categories allow for adjustments up based on experience and years of service.
