The Town of Fort Fairfield is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Fort Fairfield is a community with a population of approximately 3,500 residents and shares its borders with New Brunswick, Canada, and the communities of Caribou, Presque Isle, Limestone, and Easton, Maine.
General duties include patrol, traffic control, and criminal and traffic investigations. Qualified applicants must be a high school graduate and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving history and no criminal record. Individuals with an Associate’s degree or higher or who are certified Maine Criminal Justice Academy (MCJA) graduates with current police certifications as either a full-time or part-time officer are encouraged to apply. This is a union position with a starting wage that is based on experience. Candidates will be required to successfully pass a background check, written, oral, and physical agility tests as well as medical, psychological, and polygraph examinations. Candidates must also pass the MCJA Alert and physical fitness tests if not already certified as a full-time law enforcement officer.
