Sealed Proposals are being accepted for the 540 GARDINER ROAD DEMOLITION PROJECT, which consists of demolition the building at 540 Gardiner Road, Dresden, ME 04342, removing all material and debris, backfill the foundation, and removing the trees and bushes immediately surrounding the building. All granite from the project will remain the property of the Town of Dresden and placed in a designated zone. The bid must include the location that the waste will be disposed of.
The project is a result of the Town of Dresden’s decision to purchase the property at 540 Gardiner Road at the January 15, 2020 Special Town Meeting. The land will be held by the Town for eventual building and parking lot expansion.
Sealed proposals, in envelopes plainly marked: “Town of Dresden 540 Gardiner Road Demolition Project” and addressed to” Town of Dresden Select Board, P.O. Box 30, Dresden, ME 04342, will be received by the Town Office until 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
The bidder accepted for the project shall provide an insurance certificate issued by companies acceptable to the Select Board before work begins. The certificate shall identify the specific project and shall name the Town of Dresden as certificate holder and as additional insured for general liability and automobile liability coverages. The submitted forms shall contain a provision that coverage afforded under the insurance policies will not be cancelled or materially changed unless at least ten (10) days prior written notice by registered letter has been given to the Town of Dresden.

All materials and labor required to complete the work will be supplied by the Contractor. The cost and expense of all the necessary labor, tools and equipment required to complete the work shall be included in the prices stated in the Proposal.
Any bidder may withdraw their proposal prior to the scheduled time for the opening of the proposals upon presentation to the Town Administrator of a request, in writing, to do so. Any bidder who withdraws their proposal with
Any proposal received after the scheduled opening time will not be considered. The Select Board reserves the right to waive any formality and may consider as informal any proposal not prepared and submitted in accordance with these provisions. The Select Board reserves the right to accept any proposal or reject any or all proposals if it is deemed in the public interest to do so.
