Town Manager- Town of Gouldsboro

The Town of Gouldsboro, Maine is seeking an accomplished local government professional for the position of Town Manager.  Other duties included are:  Treasurer, Tax Collector, Clerk and General Assistance Administrator.


Gouldsboro is a coastal community in Hancock County with several villages and offers a quaint experience for travelers interested in visiting the area.  We are a bordering town of the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park.  Gouldsboro is a fishing community, operates under a five - member select board with a winter population of around 1,700.


Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication.  Interpersonal qualities are essential in addition to proven and effective personnel management. The individual must demonstrate strong financial management and budgeting skills.  Focus in economic development is vital with visionary thinking. Knowledge of Trio operating system is helpful.   The right applicant should have previous and direct Town Manager experience and/or years of experience in an executive level position within a Town/City Manager’s Office.  


Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration. A Master’s Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration is not required, but a plus. Salary is negotiable based on experience, education, and training.
