WINTER SEASONAL EMPLOYEES
The City of South Portland is currently hiring Winter Seasonal Employees to join the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department team.
The duties will involve snow shoveling and snow removal as well as other labor tasks associated with Parks Department.
Knowledge and adherence to safety practices and regulations for snow removal, and the ability to work long hours in adverse conditions and ability to work in a team atmosphere are of most importance. Applicants shall also perform miscellaneous laboring duties.
These positions will run from approximately November to April. The schedule will be Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a half hour paid lunch, with overtime for work performed over 40 hours in a week. Applicants are required to available for snowstorms and other weather and non-weather related emergencies.
Communication and interpersonal skill requirements include the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, keep essential records and to cooperate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and outside contacts. Snow removal experience is preferred.
Hourly pay is $15.00
