The City of Bangor is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Director of Water Quality Management. This role is responsible for assisting in the administration and management of all planning, operations and directing of the Water Quality Management Department. Must possess a Grade V State of Maine Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license, or the ability to obtain within two years from date of hire. Possession of Grade II NEWEA Wastewater Laboratory Analyst Certification, or the ability to obtain within one year. Possession of Grade IV NEWEA Collection Systems Certification, or the ability to obtain within one year. Possession of NASCO Pipeline Assessment Certification, or the ability to obtain within two years. 7 years of related wastewater and collection system operations and management experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge in the areas of water quality management, operations and maintenance, including broad knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
