Brunswick Firefighter/EMT (Advanced or Paramedic)

The Town of Brunswick Fire Department currently has an opening for Firefighter/EMT (Advanced or Paramedic).   In order to be considered; Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be currently licensed as a Maine EMT-Advanced or Paramedic.  Applications for those who are currently licensed as Basic EMT’s and are in an Advanced or Paramedic program will be accepted (must provide documentation from course administrator).  A copy of your driver's license and EMS license must be included with your application materials.  Leading candidates for this position will be required to successfully pass an in-depth background check, as well as medical examinations (psychological and pre-employment physical.)


Licensed Paramedics who get hired or those in a Paramedic Program that become licensed after being hired will receive a onetime $2,500 bonus.

The Town of Brunswick offers an excellent benefit package including options for health, dental and/or life insurances, short-term disability, retirement plan choices, paid vacations, sick time and 13 paid holidays.  We follow a bi-weekly payroll schedule.  The current biweekly pay ranges for a 42-hour Firefighter/EMT schedule are as follows:


FF/EMT-A        $1,608.87 to $1,896.62           ($41,830 to $49,312 annually)   

FF/EMT-P        $1,798.36 to $2,100.52           ($46,757 to $54,613 annually)


All candidates will be required to undergo the Brunswick Fire Department physical agility test. (A CPAT will not be accepted). A practice physical agility test will be offered on Saturday, March 27, 2020. Candidates will need a signed medical release form before participating in either Physical Agility Test (Practice or actual test date). The written exam and final physical agility test will take place on Saturday April 10, 2020. Candidates will be notified of site location and times following application.
