The City of Westbrook is an active growing community with multi-generational citizens, cultures and economic development, such as Rock Row. We are seeking Public Safety Dispatchers who possess or who are able to become certified in all topics requiring a certificate within six months of employment. Examples of certification include but are not limited to Terminal Operator Certification, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification and Notary Public.
You’re the first voice a citizen will hear when calling 911. You will need to be able to speak clearly and distinctly at all times, have good hearing, listening, writing, typing and computer skills. Use your understanding of communications systems, including radio, teletype, computer, telephone/E-911, TDD, alarm notification systems, call check and logger recorders, and CCTV and video multiplex recorders to help the citizens of Westbrook.
Salary Range: $19.68 -$28.95 depending on experience and/or certification. Dispatchers have the option to be covered by a pension plan with Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MPERS) Special Plan 3C or they can enroll in the Mission Square/ICMA RC Plan.
