Recreation Intern - City of Lewiston

Accepting applicants for RECREATION INTERN with the City of Lewiston’s Recreation Department. Applications are available at the Human Resources Department or online at www.lewistonmaine.gov.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Department:     Recreation

Barg. Unit:        Non-Union

Positions:         1 Paid Internship Available STARTING JAN. 2022

Status:             10-15 hours/week, total of 150-250 hours

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: All applicants must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent), and a valid Class C (non-commercial) Driver’s license. Strong communication skills are required. Must enjoy interacting with a variety of people in this community-based position.

  • One (1) internship available for individuals studying or planning to study in the field of Recreation and Leisure Studies, Community Health, Social Services or related field.

WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Assist with creating programming for youth mentor programs.
  • Assist with data entry and participation tracking.
  • Provide on-site supervision in a variety of roles, such as program supervisor, mentor and coach, among others.
