Rangeley Police Department – F/T Police Officer, P/T Officers
The Rangeley Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. The ideal candidate must be experienced, “community-oriented” and hold themselves to our core values of “Integrity, Service and Leadership”.
This is a unique opportunity for the outdoor enthusiast. Rangeley was voted “Best Place to Live” in 2016 by DownEast Magazine. We are a “four-season” town nestled in the mountains of Western Maine. Our staff consists of three full-time officers, an Animal Control Officer and several Reserves. We are a small, but busy town. Our year-round population of approximately 1100 residents can extend to over 10,000 during our summer and winter seasons.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and undergo an in-depth background investigation including polygraph, psychological and medical exams.
Preference will be given to applicants that are currently full-time certified or have successfully completed Maine Criminal Justice Academy Phase II. We are offering a $2,500.00 sign-on bonus with an additional $2,500.00 annually for three years for retention.
We are also seeking applicants to bolster our Reserve Program. Green Pin hourly wage is currently $18.00/hour. Blue Pin hourly wage $25.00/hour.
