Project Engineer- City of Lewiston

Status:             Full-Time (40 hours/week, Days)

Grade:             7 [$29.05 - $42.86 /hour]

 

SUMMARY: The City Project Engineer performs complex professional engineering, manages in a team concept, provides excellent customer service and assists in planning and supervising the work of Project Team personnel.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with facilities management, storm water management, and/or municipal utilities engineering; to include water, sewer, storm water, streets, site and development review is preferred. Certification as an Engineer-Intern required (must be able to obtain within one year of employment). Must have, or be able to obtain, a State of Maine Professional Engineer License and a State of Maine Class IV Operator License. Experience with and working knowledge of Microsoft Access Databases, Excel spreadsheets and CADD Design are a plus.

 

WORK ACTIVITIES: Prepares a variety of complex designs, preliminary and final plans, specifications, cost estimates, contract documents for Public Works infrastructure projects such as: facilities management, storm water management, utilities, water, sewer, streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, bridges, buildings, and parking garages. Provides construction management, coordination with consultants, and facilitates open communication between the City’s Planning Department, consultants, and the rest of the organization with regard to project review.
