Vacancy for the position of

Animal Control Officer

 

The Town of Bridgton is advertising to fill the position of part-time Animal Control Officer effective immediately. This is a part-time on call position working a variety of hours as needed.

 

The Animal Control Officer is responsible for responding to animal control calls, investigating and prosecuting any violations, working with residents to resolve any neighborhood animal complaints, and other associated administrative duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.

 

Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Maine State Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle and no felony convictions or any criminal history involving animal abuse or neglect.

 

The applicant must currently possess certification through the State of Maine as an Animal Control Officer or be willing to attend the first available course offered. Applicants with prior experience or certification are preferred.

 

This is a part-time position with a starting rate of $19.67 per hour plus mileage, no benefits are offered.
