Town of Chebeague Island- Bookkeeper

The Town of Chebeague Island is seeking qualified applicants to fill the full-time position of Bookkeeper.  

This position is responsible for town and school bookkeeping and accounting services including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, preparation and distribution of warrants, financials reporting, communication with vendors and working with town employees and auditors. Work is performed under the supervision of the Town Administrator. The right candidate will follow established procedures and regulations but must exercise judgment and initiative. Work is checked by observation, verification, internal controls, and through fiscal audits.


This is an hourly position in the range of $20 to $25/hr. The town offers benefits including health insurance, retirement and vacation.
