Town of Stetson-Admin Assistant to Select Board

The Town of Stetson (pop. 1200) is searching for the full-time position of Administrative Assistant to the Select Board. The Administrative Assistant functions administratively as the Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Treasurer and General Assistance Administrator, although experienced deputies perform the majority of this daily work. The Administrative Assistant is the personnel director and is responsible for assisting in hiring, evaluation and direction of the Town staff and works closely with Selectmen on such matters. This position works closely with the Budget Committee, deputy Treasurer and Selectmen to prepare the annual budget and review the status of expenses and revenues throughout the year. The Administrative Assistant provides direction and oversight to 2 employees. Stetson has over 26 miles of Town roads that are plowed by private contractors. Experience in grant-writing, oversight of investments, economic development and long-range financial planning is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have considerable municipal work experience in municipal government. Candidates with comparable management experience and education are encouraged to apply. The Town provides the employee with holiday and vacation time. Salary negotiable based on experience and training.
