Planning Director Topsham
Maine The Town of Topsham is seeking an experienced candidate who has the strength of character and depth of knowledge to inspire and lead talented, dedicated staff. This position is a full-time management position responsible for all municipal planning functions, including the implementation of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, Capital Improvements Plan, and other planning documents. Work involves land use planning; technical assistance to the Planning Board and related boards/committees; research, developing, coordinating, and administering land use and planning related projects and community development projects. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Town Manager and is reviewed through discussion, reports, and results. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing strong, positive working relationships. A candidate who exhibits patience, transparency, and a commitment to teamwork will be valued, as will one who is able to work both collaboratively and assertively. Candidates for this position will be expected to have extensive knowledge of Planning and Development and must exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills. This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in community planning or a related field such as urban planning, public policy, landscape architecture.
