FULL-TIME TRANSFER STATION OPERATOR POSITION
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
$2,000.00 SIGN-ON BONUS!
DESCRIPTION: The Town of Yarmouth is accepting applications for a Transfer Station Operator. This position requires weekend work and some overtime. Work week is Thursday thru Monday.
DUTIES INCLUDE: Performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks. Operating trucks, Bobcat, forklift, balers, compactors, bucket loader and other equipment. Assisting and directing those utilizing the Transfer Station, and related work. Assisting other Public Works Departments as required.
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have a general mechanical ability; experience operating a truck, Bobcat, forklift, cardboard baler, compactor, and bucket loader; and experience plowing snow. Excellent customer relations and communication skills, strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude a must, as well as the willingness to work independently and as part of a team. A valid Maine Class B Driver’s License is required (or the ability to obtain one in 1 year - Town will train you), along with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior Transfer Station experience and DEP certifications, along with general knowledge of computers and technology is a plus, but we will train the right individual.

SALARY: Top hourly rate is $24.32 per hour.
