Human Resource/Finance Administrative Assistant & General Assistance Caseworker - Town of Skowhegan






The Town of Skowhegan has an opening for the combined full-time position of human resource/finance administrative assistant and general assistance case worker. The human resource/finance administrative position will perform a variety of duties, to include, however not limited to, assisting with payroll and accounts payable.  Office work, to include, however not limited to, maintaining employee records, updating data, personnel files, assist with budget preparations, union negotiations and other general office duties as assigned.  This position requires that the person be well skilled in Excel and Microsoft Office.     

The general assistance portion of the position amounting to approximately 10 hours weekly administrates the town-supported welfare program for eligible needy people. The successful applicant will possess a high school diploma, GED acceptable, basic computer skills and excellent communication skills. In addition, a capacity to learn and understand a complex set of laws regarding the dispensing of assistance under the GA program is an important part of the required skill set.

Excellent benefit package and pay is negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.
